Liability Claims

If you are a CWG insured and you are involved in an incident which results in property damage or bodily injury to another party, or if you are a claimant who has property damage or bodily injury arising from an incident with a CWG insured, we suggest taking the following steps:

  1. Seek medical attention at once for any injured persons by calling 911.
  2. Preserve any evidence.
  3. Protect any damaged property from further damage. If repairs must be made, document the damages and keep thorough records.
  4. If appropriate, call to request that a law enforcement officer come to the accident scene to make a report.
  5. Do not discuss the accident facts with anyone except the officer and your own insurance representative (either your independent agent or CWG claim representative.)
  6. Get the names of all parties, including witnesses, then provide the information to your agent or CWG Casualty claim representative.
  7. Promptly report any accident to your agent or to CWG at 1-800-235-2942.
  8. If you receive a lawsuit or legal papers related to a claim, reported or not reported, immediately contact your agent and/or CWG at 1-800-235-2942.
