For Illinois customers in recently declared disaster areas of Cass, Cumberland, Iroquois, Lawrence, Marion, Menard, Moultrie, Pike, Richland, Sangamon, Vermilion, Alexander, Calhoun, Christian, Clinton, Douglas, Jackson, Jersey, Madison, Monroe, Morgan, Randolph, and St. Clair counties, or customers who have insured property in these counties, Continental Western Group has implemented the following safeguards to address problems you may face due to circumstances surrounding the disaster and during recovery.

  • If you receive a policy cancellation or nonrenewal notice on or after December 29, 2015, we will withdraw the cancellation or nonrenewal and reinstate the policy with no lapse in coverage upon notification from the entitled policyholder.

  • If you are under a time limit to perform any act in relation to your coverage with us, we will extend the required response period for a minimum of 60 days. We will provide a reasonable amount of time to respond with the limit dependent on your circumstance. This includes the submission of a claim or proof of loss, reporting of information, submission of bills, or payment of funds.

  • We will also extend the time period required to make repairs to damaged property if repairs are delayed.
